OBITUARY
Charles Earl Deason Jr.
BOGALUSA-- Charles Earl Deason Jr. died from throat cancer on Feb. 19, 2004. He
was 65.
Deason was born in Henderson, Tex. on April 3, 1938. He lived in Bogalusa for
the past five years.
He was a gauge tester in Houston for 14 years. He also served in the United
States Navy for four years.
Survivors include a son, Earl Nelson Deason; daughter, Celestia Ann Deason
Hankel; son-in-law, Ed M. Hankel, Jr.; sister, Helen Hearron; ex-wife, Carol Ann
Hartmann McGregor and ex-mother-in-law Sallie Mae Childs Heide.
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Matthew T. Deason, E. Michael Hankel
III, Nicholas J. Hankel and Christian J. McMillion.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Celestia Allan; father, Charles Earl
Deason, Sr. and half-brother, Sonny Allan.
Deason, Jr.'s body will be donated to the Tulane University School of Medicine
for science then cremated.
